Katonah Yoga 30 hour training
with Alex Sharry
Join Alex Sharry in Dublin for a 30 hour Katonah Yoga training. This is an intensive training designed for teachers and students alike as it will take your practice and teaching to the next level.
WHAT IS KATONAH YOGA?: Katonah Yoga is a practice created by Nevine Michaan that uses a blend of asana, theory, breathwork, and meditation to potentiate personal and communal well-being. Whether you are a teacher or student, advanced in your practice or brand new, well-being is a technical endeavor that we can all achieve. In this training, we will explore the entirety of this practice through asana, practicums, breathwork, adjustments, and more!
FOR STUDENTSHIP: You will stimulate your imagination and acquire tools for a more refined group practice and an intentional home practice. Katonah Yoga is all about longevity of mind, body, and spirit.
FOR TEACHERS: This training will introduce you to a whole new way of using theory to drive your teaching so the well of information you pull from comes from the dynamism of your humanity rather than the hours you accumulate as a teacher. You will feel challenged in the best way and gain more information to add to what you already teach.
IN THIS TRAINING WE WILL:
Understand: Relate the Katonah Yoga material to your practice and your life so what you learn feels grounded in reality.
Formalize: Educate your poses with formal information as opposed to personal habits and feelings, which will introduce you to new terrain in your body and mind.
Connect: Become a powerful and confident adjuster by using contact and verbal cueing to steer your students in a new direction. Establish a relationship with being hands-on that is safe, therapeutic, and informative without being invasive.
Boost: Spice up your practice as teachers and students so the implicit therapeutics in yoga practice stimulate your mind, heal your body, and soothe your soul.
Apply: Leave inspired and eager to integrate new tools and techniques into your current practice and teaching. This training will make the material accessible, relatable, and applicable to your practice and teaching so you can use it NOW.

WHO IS ALEX?: Hi! I’m Alex. I love being embodied and having my
mind changed and challenged, and yoga gives me both of these things.
My practice has helped me develop a greater confidence in myself
knowing that I have techniques to help me traverse life with skill, grace,
My classes are inspired by Katonah Yoga, Hatha, Vinyasa sequencing,
Chinese Medicine, nature, literature, and – most importantly–joy!
I believe that blending techniques and approaches helps potentiate
communal understanding and well-being. I have been teaching yoga
for 12 years and understand teaching as an ever-evolving artform that
develops in tandem with our humanity. Teaching is the area in which I
challenge myself most, but where I see myself clearest.
