Slipping Into Slow Time

with Jane Feighery

Saturday, December 4th

7pm - 9pm

Join Jane for a restorative and restful practice of Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra to welcome the wisdom of the winter season.

As the light fades and the darkness settles, we are called to embrace the gifts of the winter months; the introspection, the call to hibernation, and the surrender to a slower pace.

With so many of us feeling exhausted, depleted, and weary after the couple of years we’ve had, we need, more than ever, to attune to the rhythms of this winter season; trusting our desire to shelter and rest awhile in the silent depths of the cooler, darker, shorter days.

This workshop will comprise 90 minutes of long-held, seated, stationary Yin poses accompanied by some poems/readings and a 30-minute Yoga Nidra practice.

The Yin Yoga practice is like a body meditation. We move through a series of long-held, seated postures, spending approximately 5 minutes in each and supporting the body and mind to soften and still.

Yin Yoga supports the health of our joints, ligaments, and fascia by placing appropriate amounts of stress on these deeper, denser tissues of the body. From an energetic perspective, this practice encourages the healthy flow of chi, our life force energy, around the body, allowing us to release energetic or emotional blockages.

Commonly termed as ‘yogic sleep’, Yoga Nidra is a transformative meditative practice that allows us to move quickly and easily into a deeply-relaxing altered state of consciousness designed to promote healing, problem-solving, creativity and deep rest.

All you need to do is bring along whatever you would like to use to create a comfortable nest for yourself on your mat, and prepare yourself to switch off and rest.

This workshop is suitable for all levels from beginner to advanced practitioner.

Please contact us in advance if you have any injuries, if you are pregnant, or if there is anything else you would like to make us aware of.
