Noise Meditation - A Dynamic Listening Experience

Updated: Jan 13

Saturday, 7th February

7.30pm - 9.15pm

Tickets: €25

with Brian Dillon

Noise Meditations is a new, dynamic, high-volume listening experience from musician and composer Brian Dillon, in conjunction with The Space Between. It’s a cross between a concert, sound-bath, listening party and meditation, founded on the principle that deep, concentrated listening can have a transformative effect.

The event will begin with an introduction to the space and an invitation to get comfortable in an environment designed for well-being and concentration. There will then be a 70-minute set of ambient music and noise, performed live, with a focus on extreme dynamic variation. The intention of the high-volume audio is to flood the participant’s nervous system with sound, thus removing all possibility for distraction. The Noise Meditations aim to place the participant in a stage of complete absorption, as the dedicated activity of deep listening can help us learn how to concentrate with greater clarity, something ever more important in our attention-deficit society.

The event will finish with an opportunity for discussion, reflection and de-compression, before we all have to get back to the busy-ness of our day-to-day lives.
